This SGD60 million modern shipyard is designed to cater to ship repairs, maintenance services and ship-building services.

The premise consists of two dry docks with two heavy equipment workshop. The first Dry dock measures 100m x 28m, and the second Dry dock measures 90m x 28m. Both docks are served by various heavy-duty crane up to 32 tons.

Along the foreshore, a wharf is built from reclaimed land for berthing and mooring of vessels.

RC walls form the dry docks as water-retaining structures. For the foundation system, combinations of RC bored pile, RC spun pile, and steel pipe pile were selected based on the soil profiles and balance safety and cost considerations.

One technical challenge for this project is the deep excavations required for the construction of the dry docks. The excavation depths range from 10m to 14.4m. Our team developed a robust, safe, practical and cost-efficient method to facilitate this development’s construction.
