This SGD70 million state-of-the-art facility is halal- certified. It brings food logistics storage, production, distribution centre and other related services under one roof for Commonwealth Capital, scaling up their operations.

 

The building also boasts a fully automated 13-storey warehouse, 32m high automatic storage and retrieval system (ASRS) freezer cold room compartment, on top of the large conventional chiller, freezer, ambient warehouses, which has a computer-controlled system. It does not require any manpower to place and retrieve items inside the minus 28 deg C storeroom.

 

Other than hosting some of food manufacturing’s most high-tech innovations, the integrated facility will also improve logistics processes, increase time savings and provide economies of scale for food production of their vast array of food supply and retail brands such as The Soup Spoon, Udders, Pastamania and Roxy Laksa,

 

One technical challenge for this project is the first of its kind ASRS freezer cold room, which requires an imposed load of 90kpa and a clear column height of 32m. Our team developed an ingenious way to optimise the ASRS floor slab and foundation design, resulting in cost saving.
